⚫︎ Atsushi Tsuyama & Tomomi Nagano Trad Songs Duo Profile
〜Trad Songs is an abbreviation of Traditional Folk Song. In other words, folk songs.
We sing songs that have been passed down from generation to generation in Europe, which we have dug up from records and other sources.
The harmony between the splendid singing of Tomomi Nagano, whom contemporary musician Yoshihide Otomo called "a gem," and Atsushi Tsuyama's tasteful voice and special overtone voice.
Let's travel through the abyssal world of European folk songs! ~ (Japanese only)
Atsushi Tsuyama (a multi-instrumentalist active in various pandos such as "Memories Wharf" and "Psyche Bugyo") and Tomomi Nagano (a singer-songwriter who mainly plays the guitar and sings her own compositions).
The two seemingly different fields have in common a "love of European folk songs," and their formation was triggered when Atsushi Tsuyama happened to hear Tomomi Nagano sing a Scottish Gaelic folk song by herself at an event in 2019.
Starting with a live performance to commemorate the release of their first album, the duo began performing live in various areas, and their love of folk songs overflowed during their travels, and they have continued to expand their repertoire to the present day.
The duo's repertoire covers a wide range of music, including Irish, Scottish, Swedish, Finnish, Italian, French, Occitania, and many others.
Their live style of singing, interspersed with imaginative Japanese translations and light commentary, is well received by those with no prior knowledge.
