Takumi Nakanowatari / Drummer / Improvisational musician. Born January 19, 1996, in Towada City, Aomori Prefecture. He taught himself to play the drums at the age of 13. He graduated from the Department of Forest Science at Tokyo University of Agriculture.
While in college, in addition to performing with a big band, he participated in live sessions at jazz bars and other venues in Tokyo. In recent years, he has been focusing on music production and sound art under the theme of “music to help people fall in love with the sounds of the city,” while also performing improvisational pieces using a drum set designed to produce soft tones.
In June 2025, he held a solo live performance titled “In Jimbocho,” featuring the improvisational piece “Sobadateru,” designed to convey both ambient sounds and musical tones equally to the audience. In September, he independently released the live album “Sobadateru,” which captures the performance from “In Jimbocho.”
